AML​/BSA Manager

Description We are looking for an experienced AML/BSA Manager to support financial crime compliance efforts for a Long-term Contract position based in Charlotte, North Carolina. This opportunity is well suited to a detail-oriented individual who can assess transactional activity, conduct thoughtful investigations, and prepare clear case documentation in a fast-moving environment. The ideal candidate brings strong judgment, works effectively with limited oversight, and is comfortable navigating complex activity across banking, fintech, payments, or related sectors.

Responsibilities:

- Review transaction monitoring alerts and assess account activity to identify potential money laundering, fraud, or other suspicious behavior.

- Conduct detailed investigations into unusual activity, determine appropriate next steps, and document findings with clear rationale.

- Prepare thorough written case narratives and compliance-related summaries that support internal decision-making and regulatory standards.

- Apply AML/BSA knowledge to evaluate customer activity, escalate higher-risk matters when needed, and maintain consistent investigative quality.

- Perform enhanced due diligence and related risk-based reviews for customers or transactions that require deeper analysis.

- Manage a steady volume of investigative work independently while meeting deadlines in a high-tempo environment.

- Contribute insight on trends, patterns, and emerging risks tied to digital banking, fintech, crypto, or payments activity when applicable. Requirements - 3-7+ years of experience in AML, BSA, financial crime investigations, or a closely related compliance function.

- Hands-on background in transaction monitoring, including alert review, investigative analysis, and case decisioning.

- Experience producing well-structured written documentation for investigations, referrals, or suspicious activity-related matters.

- Demonstrated ability to evaluate unusual account or transaction behavior and make sound investigative judgments.

- Strong written communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy in compliance documentation.

- Previous exposure to banking, fintech, digital banking, cryptocurrency, or payments environments is strongly preferred.

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced setting.

- Interest in AI tools such as Copilot, ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude, with a willingness to explore how they may support productivity and learning.
