Job Description

The Relationship Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with Global Corporate Trust & Custody (“GCTC”) clients invested primarily in Commercial Real Estate (“CRE”) securitization products. These products include Agency and non-Agency CMBS, CRE CLOs, and CRE Custody accounts.

Key Duties
  • Interacting with CRE stakeholders including issuers, collateral managers, internal and external deal counsel, rating agencies, investment banks, auditors, and other industry participants
  • Work collaboratively with Business Development Officers (“BDO”) when supporting new business conversations from existing and/or prospective clients
  • Review and onboard new client relationships, and new products from existing clients, based on business line account acceptance policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance of transactions by accurately comprehending and interpreting complex legal documents
  • Build immediate working knowledge of all GCTC operating systems including PIVOT, iManage, and CDO Suite
  • Prepare/review priority of payment calculations (waterfalls) and distribute amounts to noteholders, primarily in CRE CLOs to start
  • Coordinate the creation and distribution of monthly and quarterly investor reports
  • Oversee data analysis on asset portfolios including cash reconciliation and compliance tests.
  • Provide quality service based on client needs, wants, and expectations; remain sensitive and responsive to both internal and external clients; build distinctive predictable levels of service; resolve problems quickly and effectively
  • Identify operational challenges and take steps to mitigate risk; offer ideas for improvement
  • May manage staff, hire new staff, and/or train staff to successfully meet business objectives
  • Maintain active communication internally across all reporting and compliance functions
  • Assist in the preparation of reporting to Corporate Risk department
Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience Typically eight to ten years of relevant experience in trust administration, relationship management, CRE CLO/CMBS financial reporting, accounting, or financial analysis

Location Expectations

This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.

Preferred Skills/Experience
  • A deep understanding and relationships in CRE CLO market
  • Knowledgeable about Contingent and Back up servicing obligations
  • Experienced in corporate trust, preferably within CLO/CMBS securitizations
  • Strong knowledge of Commercial Real Estate finance and mortgage fundamentals
  • Proven account and/or product management skills
  • Working knowledge of legal and regulatory rules and requirements
  • Excellent communication skills and willingness to collaborate across functions
  • Quality problem-solving, conflict management and negotiation skills
  • Ability to identify and mitigate potential risk
  • Successful history working with business development teams
  • History of resolving complex problems with minimal guidance
  • Sound technology skills to be applied to internal and external systems
  • Team player
