Job Description
The Credit Officer role requires a comprehensive skill set to effectively execute broad risk management responsibilities within Corporate & Financial Institutions Credit Risk. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining a deep understanding of the Global Banking & Markets product spectrum; driving speed to market and asset quality; assessing client, industry, and macro-level risk; independently assessing creditworthiness and establishing appropriate terms and conditions to mitigate risk within the bank’s risk appetite;
managing a complex portfolio of clients, monitoring credit profiles and compliance; providing high‑quality and efficient credit approval to Corporate Banking, Investment Banking, Global Markets, and Treasury while observing established credit policies and guidelines; structuring transactions and negotiating credit documentation; establishing internal risk ratings and implementing accurate adjustments throughout the client’s credit life cycle; developing and managing internal relationships with business partners;
and participating in strategic projects to support business goals.
- Responsible for all aspects of the credit risk management of Municipal Banking and Markets counter parties/issuers.
- Manage a high‑volume, fast‑paced portfolio using a risk‑based approach to support revenue generation while adhering to established credit risk standards.
- Partner closely with Global Markets stakeholders, including Trading, Structuring, and Sales, as well as internal support functions.
- Evaluate and support transactions within a dynamic capital markets and trading environment, requiring strong execution and prioritization skills.
- 5+ years of prior counter party credit risk management and due diligence experience.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Bloomberg.
