Senior Cost Controls Specialist

Location:

Charlotte, NC (Hybrid) | 24-Month Assignment

Travel:
Up to 3 days/week to project sites throughout the Carolinas and Florida

Insight Global is seeking a Principal Project Controls Specialist to support a large energy company's renewable energy construction portfolio. This role focuses on cost management, forecasting, budgeting, and risk analysis for multiple solar and battery storage construction projects.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in cost controls, financial analysis, project forecasting, and large capital project reporting.

• Review and analyze project estimates, budgets, and cost forecasts
• Track project financial performance and cost trends
• Perform variance analysis and identify cost risks
• Support change management and cost impact assessments
• Develop project controls reporting and portfolio analytics
• Monitor contractor and vendor cost performance
• Update project cost and risk data within company systems
• Support project teams with forecasting and financial planning

• 9+ years of Project Controls experience
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience with cost forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis
• Strong understanding of project controls methodologies
• Experience supporting large capital construction projects
• Ability to analyze large datasets and communicate findings to leadership

• Eco Sys, Maximo, Powerplan, People Soft, Risk Connect, or similar tools
• PMP or AACE certification
• Utility or renewable energy experience
• Experience supporting multi-million-dollar project portfolios
