Controller Search Solution Group

In this role, you'll provide accounting and finance department leadership to support the achievement of business goals. As a key business-facing team member, you will provide critical business and financial decision support and play an integral role in establishing and driving processes in areas such as budgeting, forecasting, accounting, management reporting, and other ad hoc analyses as the organization grows.

Responsibilities
  • Provide financial business partnership and decision support to the leadership team and various stakeholders.
  • Develop, analyze, interpret, and present financial results to various stakeholders within the organization, with the ability to adapt messaging depending on the audience, from executive level to line manager level.
  • Establish and define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) (business and financial metrics) and reports to manage and measure business performance in the most effective manner.
  • Adept at building management reports combining multiple data sources, including information provided by external parties or contained within separate systems.
  • Proactively and creatively seek out opportunities to generate business cases to evaluate various options and assess their respective financial and business impact.
  • Advise on key business planning assumptions, trade-offs, and scenarios to support strategic decisions within the business.
  • Help design new and optimize existing financial processes.
  • Establish and provide input into financial processes and timelines; actively communicate with business partners to ensure they adhere to requirements.
  • Supervise the Accounting team regarding processes such as month-end close, accruals, and budget versus actual reporting.
  • Perform and oversee cash flow analysis and forecasting, including monitoring liquidity, identifying trends, and making recommendations to support business decisions and long-term planning.
  • Serve as a key liaison with the organization's third-party CPA firm, coordinating audits, tax filings, financial reviews, and year-end reporting activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in finance and/or accounting leadership roles.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization and cross-culturally.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to formulate solid, data-driven opinions and present recommendations for decision-making.
  • Hands-on experience with Quick Books Online is required.
  • Experience using Paycor is preferred.
  • Experience performing cash flow analysis and forecasting.
  • Experience working closely with a third-party CPA firm, including coordinating audits, tax filings, financial reviews, and year-end reporting.
  • Experience supporting or working within an S-Corporation environment, with an understanding of related accounting and financial reporting considerations.
  • CPA designation is preferred, but not required.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Hands-on, with the ability to transition from strategic thinking to tactical execution.
  • Commitment to excellence, high standards, and ethical business conduct with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Basic understanding of GAAP/IFRS accounting principles is considered an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience building or improving accounting and financial processes in a growing organization.
  • Ability to balance strategic financial leadership with day-to-day execution.
  • Experience developing reporting packages and dashboards for executive leadership.
  • Prior experience managing and developing accounting team members.
