Job Description & How to Apply Below

Powerus is hiring a Capital Markets & M&A Analyst to support the team that raises capital and evaluates acquisitions for the company. You'll build the financial models, market maps, and diligence materials that inform how Powerus grows - whether that's a debt raise, an equity round, or bringing a new operating company into the portfolio. This is a hands-on analyst seat with direct exposure to live deals and strong visibility with the executive leadership team.

What

You'll Do
  • Build and maintain financial models - DCF, comparable company, precedent transaction, LBO, and accretion/dilution - to support capital raises and acquisition evaluations.
  • Support due diligence on acquisition targets: financials, contracts, cap tables, and operating metrics, working alongside legal, accounting, and the operating teams.
  • Help prepare data rooms, management presentations, and investor materials for debt and equity raises.
  • Research the autonomy, defense, and adjacent industrial markets to size opportunities and track potential targets and comparable transactions.
  • Draft investment memos and board-level materials summarizing deal rationale, structure, and financial impact.
  • Track integration milestones and post-close performance for acquired operating companies, feeding into consolidated reporting.
  • Maintain the cap table, ownership schedules, and related waterfall analyses.
  • Coordinate with outside bankers, lenders, counsel, and accountants as needed on live transactions.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 1-4 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, transaction advisory, or a similar finance role.
  • Strong financial modeling and valuation skills, with advanced Excel proficiency.
  • Working knowledge of the M&A process - sourcing, diligence, structuring, and closing.
  • Clear, precise writing for memos and board materials; comfort presenting analysis to senior leadership.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple live work streams under deadline pressure.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to operating sites and counter parties.
Nice to Have
  • Prior exposure to the aerospace, defense, or industrial technology sectors.
  • Progress toward the CFA designation or MBA.
  • Familiarity with government contracting or regulated-industry M&A.
