Job Description & How to Apply Below

Craftwork is building a modern, technology-enabled home services company, starting with residential painting. We employ our painters full-time and manage the entire customer experience using proprietary software, which allows us to consistently deliver excellent quality and service while creating meaningful careers in the trades.

Founded in 2023, Craftwork currently operates in Charlotte and Raleigh, with plans to expand into three new markets over the next 12 months. We’ve grown to nearly 80 employees and have raised over $25M from investors including Y Combinator, Seven Seven Six, Slow Ventures, Forerunner Ventures, General Catalyst, and Lachy Groom.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Craftwork is looking for an Analyst to build and operate the financial planning, strategic analysis, and reporting systems that support our next stage of growth.

This person will own the day-to-day FP&A work required to help Craftwork plan effectively and make informed decisions, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, cash and runway planning, headcount planning, and market-level financial performance. You’ll maintain the models and reporting that give the company a clear view of where we are, where we’re headed, and what is driving the difference.

A central part of this role will be partnering closely with Growth, Operations, and company leadership to turn financial and operating data into strategic insight. You’ll help evaluate market performance, hiring and investment decisions, demand-generation, operating efficiency, new market opportunities, and other questions that shape how Craftwork allocates capital and resources as we scale. You’ll also work with Product and Engineering to translate critical P&L, budgeting, and financial reporting workflows into Craftwork’s software so that financial visibility and functionality is increasingly embedded directly into the company’s operating system.

This is a hands-on, high-ownership role for someone who is analytical, curious, and energized by getting into the details. The right person will be equally comfortable updating a forecast, investigating a variance, building a new model from scratch, working across the organization, and spending time in the field to understand how the business actually works. You’ll use that context to turn ambiguous questions into clear, actionable recommendations.

The goal is not simply to report financial results, but to help the organization understand them, anticipate what comes next, and make better strategic decisions with greater confidence.

OUTCOMES
  • You’ll own the company’s budgeting and forecasting processes, maintaining clear assumptions and an up-to-date view of expected performance across markets.
  • You’ll regularly compare actual results against the plan, identify meaningful variances, and update forecasts as new information emerges.
Create Clear Visibility into Company & Market Performance
  • You’ll develop reporting that gives the organization a clear view of performance.
  • You’ll identify the financial and operating metrics that matter most and ensure they are consistently measured and understood.
  • You’ll investigate performance trends and help teams understand what is driving changes in revenue, margin, operating expenses, and profitability.
  • You’ll maintain a clear view of cash, burn, and runway across multiple scenarios.
  • You’ll model the financial impact of hiring, market expansion, capital investments, and changes in operating performance, and help leadership understand the tradeoffs.
Improve Budgeting & Resource Allocation Across the Organization
  • You’ll partner with functional leaders and market managers to build budgets and headcount plans grounded in company priorities and realistic operating assumptions.
  • You’ll track performance…
