- Support Managing Directors in business development through correspondent relationships and new transactions for assigned territory; actively manage and develop relationships with correspondent mortgage bankers.
- Manage transactions from origination through closing.
- Underwrite new commercial real estate loan investment opportunities and provide analysis and recommendations to Managing Directors.
- Draft term sheets, application/commitment letters, and other transaction-related documents for senior team review.
- Complete due diligence analysis, including leases, rent rolls, third-party reports, estoppels, and other business-related matters.
- Work with senior team members and legal counsel to negotiate loan terms and documentation.
- Prepare investment committee memos and lead the due diligence process for loans in the application stage.
- Serve as business liaison throughout loan closing, coordinating internal and external stakeholders for timely closing.
- Train and mentor junior team members.
- Travel for due diligence and business development trips.
- Perform quarterly reviews of existing loans, including operating statements and leasing updates.
- Support real estate equity and credit fund investments.
- Handle special servicing requests as requested.
- 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) - Minimum Required
- 3-5+ Years’ experience required in commercial real estate finance and/or commercial real estate investment and analysis that aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position.
- Experience analyzing asset lending transactions.
- Knowledge of commercial real estate principles and valuation methods.
- Knowledge of national commercial real estate and mortgage markets and macro-economic trends that affect those markets.
- Ability to understand and evaluate real estate financial statements.
- Knowledge of real estate legal concepts and understanding of loan documents.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Power Point
- Experience with Costar and Argus preferred.
- Advanced degrees and/or certificates strongly preferred.
- Travel: 20%-30% (intermittent)
Demonstrates expertise in commercial real estate finance, including underwriting, due diligence, and transaction management. Proficient in analyzing financial statements and negotiating loan terms while effectively managing relationships with stakeholders.
