The Syndicate & Brokered CD Middle Office Associate is responsible for providing day-to-day middle office support for U.S. Bancorp Investments Inc.'s Debt Capital Markets Syndicate and Brokered CD trading businesses. The successful candidate will partner closely with Syndicate, Trading, Sales, Operations, Finance, Technology, and external counter parties to ensure the accurate processing and settlement of fixed income transactions. Responsibilities span the full trade lifecycle, including trade capture, allocations, confirmations, settlement management, reconciliations, exception resolution, and P&L validation.
This role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who is comfortable working in a deadline-driven trading environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a willingness to challenge and improve existing processes, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
- Support the post-trade processing lifecycle for Syndicate and Brokered CD transactions from execution through settlement.
- Serve as a primary point of contact between trading, sales, operations, finance, and external counter parties.
- Monitor and resolve trade exceptions, settlement discrepancies, and reconciliation breaks in a timely manner.
- Validate trade allocations, trade economics, and position accuracy across internal systems.
- Assist with daily profit and loss (P&L) reconciliation and reporting processes.
- Support new issue syndicate transactions, including order management, allocations, and settlement coordination.
- Participate in the development and enhancement of operational controls, procedures, and process improvements.
- Identify operational risks and elevate issues appropriately to management.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives focused on automation, scalability, and operating efficiency.
- Maintain a strong control environment while delivering a high level of service to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
- 1-3 years of experience in capital markets, fixed income trading support, middle office, operations, or a related financial services environment.
- Understanding of fixed income products, debt capital markets, syndicate activities, and trade lifecycle management.
- Experience supporting syndicate, debt issuance, brokered CD, fixed income sales, trading, or operations functions.
- Familiarity with Direct Books or similar new issue syndication platforms is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across business and operational teams.
- Experience investigating and resolving operational breaks and exceptions.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with Bloomberg and fixed income market data platforms is beneficial.
