Engaging a third-party can expose the organization to a range of risks, including compliance, credit, information security, offshore, operational, reputational and/or strategic risks.
The Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) team plays a critical role in mitigating these risks through close collaboration with Legal, Sourcing, business partners, and other Subject Matter Experts, throughout the third-party lifecycle - from due diligence to performance and risk management. The Senior Specialist of Third-Party Risk Management is responsible for fostering strong partnerships with internal stakeholders to assist in consistently completing the requirements associated with managing third party relationships.
This includes a) assisting with the completion of with assessments to accurately document the existing and evolving use cases associated to the products or services offered by third parties through the completion of internal inherent risk, ongoing performance management, and replacement plan assessments, b) educating internal stakeholders of responsibilities, risks, and issues associated to managing third party relationships as detailed in the Third Party Risk Management Program, c) maintaining accurate inventories associated to each third party relationship, and d) ensuring risks are appropriately managed and remediated to minimize risk and increase value third-party relationships.
Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders through regular meetings to share risk insights and promote third-party risk management best practices to mitigate risk and improve value. Support stakeholders in accurately documenting third-party services, use cases, internal stakeholder ownership, and risk ratings through inherent risk intake forms. Assist internal stakeholders with the completion of ongoing third-party performance management activities, including documenting changes, roadblocks, SLA adherence, and operational performance.
Support stakeholders document third-party transition and replacement plans, ensuring dependencies and strategies are clearly defined. Maintain an accurate inventory of third-party relationships, including services provided and responsible internal owners. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve risks identified through the third-party risk management processes. Update and maintain internal team procedures and organizational training materials to support third-party risk management standards. Drive the completion of jurisdictional risk assessments by partnering with cross-functional teams, providing guidance, and escalating material risks to senior leadership.
Contribute to special projects and maintenance of operational process solutions to strengthen the firm’s third-party risk management practices.
