Commercial Credit Loan Analyst

The Analyst, US Banking focuses on new commercial loan originations, credit approval underwriting, and portfolio management for the existing portfolio. This position plays a critical role in the analysis, preparation, and presentation of credit approval memorandums for new, potential, and existing loan opportunities. Additionally, the role supports portfolio management efforts and assists with project management tasks initiated by the Management Team.

The position is fully in-person at the office in Charlotte, NC.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in establishing “credit boxes” and other eligibility criteria for Lending & Risk Partners.
• Assist in the preparation of commercial loan approvals, modification approvals, and periodic business reviews, including financial analysis on historical, forecasted, and performance bases, risk rating assessments, and compliance performance.
• Collaborate with the USLP Team, including the Risk Team, to manage workflow, identify and escalate process breakdowns, and develop enhancements.
• Participate in frequent calls with internal and external stakeholders.
• Prepare portfolio analysis by utilizing various tools, including the USLP Dashboard.
• Assist in analyzing individual whole loan participations and loan pools.
• Understand and assist in measuring and monitoring the profitability of the portfolio.
• Liaise with U.S. Loan Program Lending Partners to assist in joint efforts, including loan syndication and data fulfillment.
• Assist in the periodic review and update of the U.S. Loan Program Policy, Guidelines, Procedures Manual, and other Risk Management and U.S. Loan Committee needs.
• Prepare reports for the US Loan Committee and the Board of Directors, presenting information on portfolio activity, performance, and results on a quarterly basis.
• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, or Finance required. Master’s Degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.
• One (1) year of banking and/or financial services experience required. Experience in credit/portfolio analysis and/or portfolio management support is highly desirable, but not required.
• Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.
• Basic knowledge of commercial credit analysis for corporate purposes, mergers, acquisitions, secured asset financings, and industry verticals.
• Self-starter, results-oriented, dynamic, and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Analytical, problem-solving, organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet strict deadlines.
• Understanding of financial/accounting principles, industry assessment, research, and due diligence is highly preferred.
• Skills in credit and risk assessment, portfolio management, and financial exposure to forecasting, performance analysis, and ratio analysis are desirable.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Teams, and other relevant tools.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills required.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. required. This position is of indefinite duration and requires candidates to have permanent or ongoing work authorization.
• The employee is responsible for maintaining eligible work authorization throughout their tenure.
