Private Equity Expert

Location: 100% Remote (Latin America)

We are seeking a highly experienced Private Equity Expert to lead sophisticated investment underwriting and portfolio analysis. This is a hands-on technical role for a practitioner who has personally built, owned, and audited complex LBO and buyout models from scratch.

You will work directly with investment materials to build acquisition cases, evaluate debt structures, model complex waterfalls, and analyze add-on opportunities. General FP&A or pure investment banking candidates without direct, hands-on private equity modeling experience will not be considered.

• LBO & Underwriting Models: Build and maintain detailed, dynamic LBO and acquisition underwriting models from real-world investment teasers, CIMs, and financial statements.
• Operating & Downside Cases: Develop granular operational models, sensitivity analyses, and stress-test scenarios (revenue drivers, working capital, capex).
• Debt Structures & Cash Sweeps: Design and model multi-tranche debt capital structures, dynamic cash sweeps, debt paydown schedules, and covenant tracking.
• Returns & Waterfalls: Architect complex distribution waterfalls (European/American-style, preferred returns, hurdle rates, GP catch-up, carried interest) and calculate accurate IRR/MoIC metrics.
• Portfolio & Add-on Analysis: Conduct M&A consolidation modeling, roll-up strategies, synergistic add-on analysis, and portfolio monitoring.
• Investment Defense: Clearly articulate and defend modeling assumptions, formulaic architecture, and key risk drivers to senior investment partners.

• Direct Private Equity Depth: 3+ years of direct experience building, owning, and auditing complex financial models within Private Equity, Buyout Funds, or specialized PE advisory firms.
• Technical Mastery: Proven ability to build fully integrated 3-statement LBO models with circularity toggles, dynamic debt schedules, and complex waterfalls in Excel.
• Real Material Execution: Demonstrated track record of converting raw investment materials (CIMs, financial reporting packages, debt term sheets) into structured, institutional-grade models.
• Communication: Flawless written and spoken English, with the ability to explain complex technical logic and financial trade-offs clearly and concisely.
• Lat Am-based: Located in Latin America with full overlap during US Business Hours
