This temporary position is located at 610

East Center Avenue – Iredell County, with the Department of Environmental Quality.

Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $18.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).

Effective July 1, 2025, candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed from the class specification.

The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities listed within this vacancy announcement will be used only as management preferences and will be used to screen for the most qualified pool of applicants.

This posting is for 2 positions.

The Division has numerous sites with private wells that require sampling due to both PFAS and Non-PFAS contamination in their drinking water wells.

For health and safety policy reasons, we must have two staff conduct chemical testing together.

This temporary position would be involved in the well testing aspect of this work.

The position would assist in conducting well testing at various residences across the state.

Sampling trips would be long day trips to the site for sampling and then delivery of samples to the laboratory.

Some experience in the environmental field is a plus.
