Environmental Services Technician - Pineville; 1st Shift

Overview

Atrium Health Pineville is seeking a full‑time Environmental Services Technician to promote environmental protection by maintaining healthy and safe medical facilities for employees and visitors.

• Starting pay: $18.50/hour
• Eligible for Prepaid College Tuition Assistance (up to $5,250/year)

Responsibilities
• Perform complete cleaning of assigned areas, including dusting, sanitizing, washing windows, ceiling vents, sweeping, scrubbing, vacuuming, restocking restrooms, replacing light bulbs, and reporting repairs.
• Assist with outdoor cleaning (parking lot, windows, roof) and use ladders as needed.
• Handle heavy contact with cleaning chemicals, disinfecting agents, floor strippers, and finishes.
• Remove waste by collecting and transporting soiled linen, emptying trash containers, changing sharps containers, transporting solid and hazardous waste to compactors, recycling material, and emptying cigarette receptacles in smoking areas.
• Keep equipment clean and orderly, reporting equipment failures or mechanical issues to maintenance staff.
• Maintain a safe working environment and provide quality service by complying with procedures, rules and regulations, infection control guidelines, and departmental quality standards.
• Attend all required in‑service education and training classes, including safety update programs to maintain technical knowledge.
• Consistently demonstrate the ability to meet time schedules and deadlines.
Qualified Candidates
• Preferred:
  High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Preferred:
  One year experience
• Can prioritize assignments to complete work in a timely manner
• Can operate equipment
• Can establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co‑workers
