Within our Retail locations, Staff Pharmacists play a critical role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting the Pharmacy Manager in leading the pharmacy team.
As a Staff Pharmacist, you will help manage and oversee pharmacy operations, model our values, and ensure compliance with laws, regulations and CVS Health policies while delivering clinical care and counseling to patients.
Responsibilities- Help manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
- Serve as a proxy for the Pharmacy Manager during bench shifts, coaching the team and providing feedback on performance
- Assume Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as the primary pharmacist-on-duty
- Ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following workflow procedures and safety guardrails
- Foster positive patient experiences with empathy and collaboration with the patient’s healthcare team; resolve insurance and/or medication issues
- Offer and deliver immunizations; support and coach Pharmacy Technicians in immunization delivery
- Support inventory management with emphasis on protecting cold chain products
- Partner with the Pharmacy Manager to ensure compliance with state Board regulations; escalate issues as needed
- Maintain scheduling flexibility and contribute to a safe, inclusive team dynamic; assist with pharmacy scheduling as directed
- Maintain and expand clinical and technical skills; complete required trainings and CMEs
- Support access to care and patient outcomes through pharmacist-delivered clinical care (e.g., testing and prescribing services where permissible)
- Comply with federal and state laws, regulations, professional standards, and CVS Health policies; protect patient privacy and maintain a safe workplace
- Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located
- Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
- Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
- Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
- Attention, focus and multi-tasking capabilities with the ability to pivot between tasks
- Strong customer service and team orientation; respond to patients’ reactions appropriately
- Effective communication skills, including active listening and clear verbal/written interaction with patients and colleagues
- Mathematical reasoning for dispensing calculations and related tasks
- Problem-solving and issue resolution for challenging interactions
- Physical demands including mobility, lifting, reaching, typing and prolonged standing; close visual acuity
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs as needed and perform other physical requirements
- Ability to receive and convey detailed information via oral communication
- Any additional tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager
- 1-2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
- Ability to work across multiple locations as business needs require

Pay RangeThe Typical Pay Range For This Role Is $60.00 - $76.00 per hour; actual offer depends on experience, education, geography and other factors.
