Job Title: Clinical Counselor (Residential/Detox Facility)
Status: Full-time
Workdays and Hours: M-F 8am-4:30pm (Flexibility required)
Location: Charlotte, NC

Position Overview:We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Counselor to join our team. This role is critical in delivering high-quality counseling services with a focus on substance use and mental health disorder treatment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Provide counseling services to clients according to state/agency guidelines.
- Inform the individual about benefits, community resources, and services.
- Monitor signs and symptoms of intoxication and withdrawal, and manage treatment accordingly.
- Provide crisis interventions when necessary.
- Ensure linkage to necessary services, including psychological and psychiatric evaluations.
- Complete psychosocial assessments and evaluate client behaviors.
- Consult with other disciplinary teams regarding client health.
- Develop and monitor individualized, person-centered plans.
- Facilitate client admissions, transitions, and discharges.
- Submit service authorizations as needed.
- Document client progress and updates in NC Topps and GPRA’s.
- Manage client caseload from entry to discharge.
- Conduct individual and group therapy sessions, including psychoeducation and family groups.
- Provide family education and facilitate involvement in recovery.
- Complete accurate documentation in electronic records.
- Report incidents per guidelines.
- Participate in QA, QI activities, and clinical supervision.
- Train interns from colleges and universities.
- Administer medications as needed, following provider orders (training required).
- Complete UDS screenings as needed.
- Adhere to professional standards and regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required:
- Master’s Degree in Counseling, Clinical Social Work, or another approved field.
Required:
- Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS/LCAS-A).
- Preferred: LCMHC, LCMHC-A, LCSW, or LCSW-A. Dual licenses are a plus.
- Minimum two years of counseling experience.
- Substance use disorder and mental health treatment experience preferred.
