Job Description Period: 1 week ago – 1st 25 applicants
ResponsibilitiesThe Physical Therapist will conduct eligibility determinations for children referred to the ITP using standardized testing tools and informal evaluation methods (e.g., observation and caregiver reports). They will:
- Evaluate adaptive, communication, motor, cognitive, and social-emotional development of children birth to three to determine eligibility for ITP services.
- Complete developmental assessments.
- Provide consultation and support to families and CDSA staff; assist with the development of family service plans in collaboration with other team members.
- Provide treatment services as needed and manage multiple tasks while adhering to timelines for documentation.
Note:
This temporary position may require licensure as a Physical Therapist in the State of North Carolina.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities/Management Preferences (selected):
- Considerable knowledge of physical therapy principles, techniques, modalities, and their application with the population served.
- Ability to plan, coordinate, and conduct training and in-service education for CDSA staff and providers.
- Ability to prepare and evaluate reports, including medical, social, and departmental records.
- Ability to evaluate patient response and progress and present evaluative reports in case staffing and multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Ability to work effectively with clients, families, medical personnel, CDSA staff, other service providers, and community partners in a sensitive and respectful manner.
