We have an opportunity for a Part‑time (8 hours per week) Radiology Technologist or Limited Licensed Radiology Technologist at the Ballantyne OUC office.
This position will be scheduled 2–3 shifts per week, either Monday‑Friday 5:30 pm‑9:00 pm or Saturday/Sunday 10:00 am‑2:00 pm.
- OUC clinic hours:
Monday‑Friday 5:30 pm‑9:30 pm;
Saturday and Sunday 10:00 am‑2:00 pm.
The Radiology Technologist provides diagnostic quality radiographs for physicians and/or physician assistants while protecting employees and patients from unnecessary radiation and ensuring appropriate protective measures.
Essential Functions- Demonstrates competency in positioning of all radiological procedures as prescribed by departmental policy.
- Communicates with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, confirm acknowledgement of patients' understanding and address any questions or concerns.
- Positions patients and selects exposure factors for various radiologic examinations and provides patient with radiation protection and safety in accordance with prescribed methods.
- Logs radiological procedures completed, processes charges and related paperwork using computer equipment as directed.
- Maintains cleanliness of examination rooms and stocks necessary medical and/or radiological supplies in the department. Compliance with all Ortho Carolina policy and procedures.
- Assists with the transportation of patients between the examination module(s) and the Radiology department. Assist with patient flow in the examination module(s) as directed by a supervisor.
- Ability to operate various manufacturer types of Radiology suite equipment (e.g., Siemens, GE, Philips).
- Proficient use of Digital Radiology (DR) and Computer Radiography (CR) reader systems.
- Skill in identifying equipment problems and correcting or notifying supervisor.
- Skill in positioning patients properly and performing quality diagnostic radiographs.
- Observes safety and security procedures.
- Graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the American Medical Association.
- Registered Radiology Tech by AART or Limited Licensed Radiology Technologist certification obtained.
- Current CPR certification recommended.
- Clinical experience in radiology.
