• ED: 16 beds
• ICU: ~20 beds
• Progressive: ~40 beds
• No Trauma designation
• Facility offers X-Ray, CT, Ultrasound, MRI, Interventional Radiology, and Nuclear Medicine, with Radiology Nursing support
• TJC Stroke accredited
• Radius rule:
  Traveler's permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit

• Inpatient Census is typically 100% capacity - 224
• Department performs an average of 23 studies/day (more during the week, less on weekends)
• Minimum Years of Experience required: 1 year
• Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes

• Department will serve ED, Inpatient, Observation, and Outpatient patients
• Department will care for a large population of medical device patients
• Will perform cases with anesthesia as needed
• Department does not provide cardiac imaging

• ARRT(R) or NMTCB, ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT
• BLS
• NC Licensure is not required

• Examines requests and verifies orders on each patient. Questions orders to the Radiologist before performing exam or contacts ordering provider when there are discrepancies.
• Properly identify (Using two patient identifiers) and assist patients while offering a brief explanation of the procedures. Prepares patients for the procedure with a full explanation and documents.
• Interviews patients for a complete medical history. Reviews in-patients, ER, and outpatients EMR's to obtain pertinent clinical history.
• Assumes responsibility for the exam from beginning of exam until completion of dictated results.
• Prepares and administers IV contrast according to departmental protocols.
• Evaluates technical quality of images and consults with a Radiologist if needed.
• Performs basic patient care functions. Informs appropriate nursing personnel of any changes in the patient's condition. Initiates life support measures for patients when necessary.
• Performs all invasive procedures in accordance with blood borne pathogens, isolation, and infection control policies and procedures.
• Practices principle of radiation safety for self, employees, patients and family members.
• Maintains knowledge and skills required to work safely in an environment that can create significant exposure to blood borne pathogens and infectious disease.
• Adheres to the hospital fire and safety procedures.
• Operates radiology computer system to include entering orders and charging procedures/supplies. Documents contrast administration in the MAR.
• Assists other medical personnel, such as anesthesia, when performing exams or services in conjunction with a MRI scan.
• Maintains knowledge of all MRI safety requirements for both staff and patients while in and around magnetic fields.
