What We Offer
Novant Health Sleep Medicine - Ballantyne is seeking a full-time Certified Medical Assistant!
The role of the Certified Medical Assistant is to coordinate and assist the provider to ensure safe, quality, cost‑effective service and care for the people within the practice population.
What You’ll DoJob responsibilities include:
- Patient Rooming:
Efficiently prepare exam rooms and escort patients for timely appointments. - Inbox Management:
Manage electronic in‑baskets, including sending messages to providers and patients, processing prescription refills, and responding promptly to inquiries. - Order Reviews:
Verify and process provider orders to maintain accuracy and compliance. - Collaborative Support:
Work closely with clinical staff to ensure smooth operations and deliver exceptional patient care in a high‑volume, fast‑moving environment.
- Education
:
High School Diploma or GED, required. Candidates must provide proof of current certification from one of the approved registries:- CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
- CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA)
- RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT)
- American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA)
- National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
- National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)
- American Allied Health (AAH)
- RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)
- Experience
:
Previous work in a medical office, preferred. - Licensure/Certification
:
Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required. Current State Driver’s License (Palliative Care Only), required. Refer to Life Support Training Policy NH‑HR‑3096. - Additional Skills (required):
Ability to successfully complete generic and department‑specific skills validation and competency testing.
