Claims Specialist (Hybrid - Charlotte, NC)

Position Overview
The Claims Specialist supports our oral surgery offices by preparing and submitting insurance claims for services provided. This role helps ensure claims are accurate, complete, and submitted correctly, so reimbursement is not delayed.

This is a hybrid position. Team members must be able to work remotely but also come into the Charlotte office when needed.

We are looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing their own workload. While we work closely as a team, this role requires the ability to stay focused and work independently throughout the day.

Experience in medical or dental insurance is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Scrub and prepare claims from oral surgery offices to ensure patient demographics, provider information, and required details are accurate before submission

• Submit clean claims to medical and dental insurance carriers

• Access and navigate multiple insurance payer portals to check claim status, upload documentation, and resolve issues

• Identify and correct errors that could delay payment

• Communicate clearly with team members, providers, insurance representatives, and patients when needed

• Use Microsoft Teams, Excel, SharePoint, and other internal systems to stay updated on workflows, policies, and team communication

• Maintain HIPAA compliance at all times

• Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvement discussions

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail

• Comfortable working independently and managing assigned work queues

• Very comfortable using computers and navigating multiple systems daily

• Experience in medical or dental insurance preferred, but not required

• Experience in coding (CPT, CDT, ICD-10) preferred, but not required

• Experience in dental is a plus, but not a requirement
