Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Cardiac Cath Lab RN for a 13‑week travel assignment in Charlotte, North Carolina. Required Qualifications
  • One year’s recent experience as a Cath Lab RN
  • Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
  • Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification
  • Current ACLS certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • PALS or ENPC certifications
  • RCIS certification
  • Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position
Summary

The Travel Cath Lab RN provides specialized care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and interventional treatments. The role includes preparing patients, assisting during procedures, monitoring recovery, and collaborating closely with cardiologists and cath lab teams. Advanced cardiac care skills, strong communication, and adaptability are essential, as is adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

Essential Work Functions
  • Conduct assessment of patients prior to procedures, including reviewing medical history and performing physical exams
  • Assist in positioning patients and ensuring proper placement of ECG electrodes and cardiac leads
  • Assist physicians during procedures, including placement of catheters, wires, balloons, stents, structural heart devices, and other interventions
  • Operate and monitor hemodynamic equipment, recognizing and responding to changes in cardiac rhythms and waveforms
  • Assist in arterial and/or venous sheath removal using closure devices, manual pressure, or mechanical compression; transport patients to recovery area
  • Monitor vital signs, ECG, and hemodynamic parameters during procedures
  • Support post‑procedure care, ensuring smooth transition to subsequent phases of care
  • Maintain and troubleshoot cath lab equipment, keeping it fully stocked and functional
  • Communicate effectively with team members, patients, families, and physicians to provide seamless care
  • Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
Required Essential Skills

  • Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English
  • Ability to read/write instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills

  • Remain stationary, move equipment up to 100 lbs, push, pull, and bend

  • Work effectively with diverse personnel, presenting a positive attitude and professionalism
Technical/Motor Skills
  • Fine manipulation, ability to grasp and move equipment during procedures

  • Handle frequent contact with the public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure
  • Work under close supervision occasionally and without assistance at times
  • Handle irregular activity schedules and maintain concentration on detail
