Independent Contractor (1099)|Montgomery Counseling Group|Charlotte, NC|Hybrid

About Montgomery Counseling Group

Montgomery Counseling Group is a Charlotte-based therapy practice dedicated to fostering emotional well‑being for individuals, couples, and families. The practice specializes in Trauma Therapy, Couples and Family Therapy, Play Therapy, Group Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Therapy, and is committed to delivering tailored, effective mental health care in a supportive, client‑centered environment.

Opportunity Overview

Montgomery Counseling Group is seeking a licensed, bilingual therapist to join the practice as an independent contractor (1099). This is not an employee position and does not include salary, wages, or employee benefits. Contractors set their own schedules within agreed‑upon parameters and maintain flexibility to conduct certain work remotely.

This opportunity is well‑suited to a licensed clinician who is building or expanding a caseload, values clinical autonomy, and is looking to affiliate with an established, trauma‑informed practice.

Please note the following key distinctions of this engagement:

Compensation is structured on a 1099 basis; contractors are responsible for their own taxes

No employer‑sponsored benefits are included (health insurance, PTO, retirement)

You will operate as an independent professional affiliated with the practice

Schedule flexibility is part of the arrangement, within agreed clinical commitments

Scope of Services
  • Individual and group therapy sessions
  • Client assessments
  • Treatment planning and goal setting
  • Case documentation in accordance with practice standards
Qualifications

Professional fluency in English and Spanish is required for this role, as the practice serves a Spanish‑speaking client population, and effective therapeutic care depends on direct linguistic communication

Active license or certification in counseling, social work, or a related field at the Associate's level or above

Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field

Experience with trauma therapy, couples and family therapy, or play therapy preferred

Demonstrated competence working with diverse populations

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage an independent caseload
