This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading Aerospace manufacturer in a critical role. We are seeking a creative, forward‑thinking professional who can generate innovative ideas and successfully drive them through to completion.

Role location

This role sits on-site in Charlotte, NC 4 days a week with 1 remote day.

Responsibilities

The Senior IT Director is responsible for overseeing the technology strategy and operations of the organization, across 4 sites. This role includes managing IT infrastructure, applications, ensuring data security, and leading a team of IT professionals to support the organization’s goals. The Senior IT Director will work closely with senior leadership to align technology initiatives with business objectives.

  • Must currently be located in Charlotte, NC.
  • Develop and manage the IT strategy, budget, and roadmap, ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources, vendors and IT outsourcing partners while delivering strategic initiatives and projects on time and on budget.
  • Establish and actively communicate a clear technology vision, roadmaps, and goals that support business growth and operational excellence.
  • Provide thought leadership and guidance on emerging technologies, industry trends, and competitive landscapes to drive innovation and competitive advantage.
  • Provide financial leadership in building the IT budget and controlling actual versus projected operating expenses.
  • Lead and build a diverse team of IT support staff to foster a service-oriented culture.
  • Leverage technology for process optimization, cost savings, and supporting revenue growth.
  • Collaborate with outsourced vendors to implement and oversee robust cybersecurity measures to protect the company's digital assets, data, network, and systems from internal and external threats.
  • Establish a comprehensive risk management framework and associated policies, ensuring periodic monitoring and compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Establish and ensure IT compliance with business continuity, disaster recovery and data backup and retention policies.
  • Lead collaboration with business units to identify technology needs, prioritize projects, and ensure seamless integration of IT solutions into business processes.
  • Establish pro-active governance across the IT roadmap, major initiatives, and ongoing operations.
  • Ensure internal and external customer satisfaction with IT through facilitation of project management and timely communications.
  • Define KPIs and metrics to measure the effectiveness of daily operations and technology initiatives, provide regular updates to the executive team.
  • Analyze data and insights to drive continuous improvement in technology operations.
  • Manage IT teams across multiple sites to ensure roadmap and day to day alignment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar field. MS or MBA is a plus.
  • At least 10 years of experience in IT leadership.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 platform and licensing.
  • Experience streamlining operations across multiple ERP and data management systems.
  • Knowledge of defense contractor compliance requirements and processes preferred (GCC High, CMMC, DFARS, ITAR, etc.)
  • Expertise in implementing and managing enterprise-level IT systems, cloud platforms, and data analytics environments.
