Role Overview:
We are seeking a Contract Management & Billing Support Specialist to support a major utility company by assisting with customer agreements, business applications, and billing services. This role partners closely with Business & Technical Consultants, legal teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate contract processing, billing setup, and issue resolution for complex customer accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process customer business applications, service agreements, and billing setup
- Review and validate customer documentation for completeness and accuracy
- Support complex and urgent customer billing and contract-related requests
- Perform billing and agreement research to resolve customer inquiries and discrepancies
- Investigate and correct billing errors in accordance with company and customer records
- Interact with internal teams and external customers via phone or video to ensure high-quality service
- Coordinate with internal and external legal counsel on contract-related matters
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding accounts, pricing, service changes, and agreements
- Manage and resolve customer billing issues or escalate as appropriate
- Run reports, update system data, and perform program data management activities
- Coordinate customer service needs across departments to ensure timely resolution
- Support multiple “White” projects in alignment with the Project Management Center of Excellence (PMCoE)
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in contract management or billing support
- Working knowledge of basic project management principles
- Experience or education in project-related work
- Strong skills in decision-making, critical thinking, and problem-solving
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Experience handling complex customer agreements and billing inquiries
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university
- Experience with People Soft or SAP billing systems
- Working knowledge of project scheduling and cost controls
- Experience supporting utility or highly regulated environments
Additional Information:
- This position interacts with stakeholders across multiple levels, from individual contributors to senior department leadership
- Role complexity typically requires up to one year of related study, training, or experience to gain full job proficiency
