The
** Research Analyst
** is responsible for uncovering actionable insights through deep data mining and advanced analytics across NASCAR’s internal and external data ecosystems. This role will serve as a strategic storyteller, transforming complex data from sources such as the NASCAR Data Garage (Snowflake), MCDP, and syndicated data (e.g., Scarborough, Simmons, Nielsen) into compelling Tableau dashboards and executive-ready reports. The

** t will play a key role in identifying emerging trends, fan behaviors, and business opportunities to drive strategic decisions across the organization and its partners.
** Duties include but are not limited to:
*** Perform advanced data mining across multiple databases (Snowflake, MCDP, syndicated data) to uncover trends, correlations, and patterns that inform business strategies.
* Apply statistical and analytical methods to extract insights on fan engagement, consumer behavior, and brand performance.
* Conduct cross-platform data integration to develop a unified view of the fan and the broader motorsports landscape.
* Build repeatable analytical workflows and data pipelines to streamline insight generation.
* Design and maintain clear, dynamic Tableau dashboards to visualize insights for stakeholders across NASCAR, including teams, tracks, sponsors, and executives.
* Develop executive-level PowerPoint reports and presentations that synthesize data into compelling narratives.
* Ensure data storytelling is accessible and actionable for non-technical audiences.
* Identify new opportunities to deepen understanding of fan sentiment, market segmentation, and engagement trends.
* Partner with stakeholders to define business questions and translate them into analytical projects and research designs.
* Leverage fan panel data (e.g., NASCAR Fan Council) and longitudinal studies to measure attitudinal shifts and track sport health.
* Integrate insights from syndicated sources (Scarborough, Simmons, Nielsen Sports, Experian, etc.) to provide a holistic view of fan behavior and brand affinity.
* Use syndicated data to benchmark NASCAR’s audience against key competitors and industries.
* Collaborate closely with the Analytics & Insights, Marketing, and Strategy teams to deliver unified reporting and insight solutions.
* Act as a trusted data resource for internal business units, helping them define KPIs and measure performance.
* Support the development of analytical frameworks that guide sponsorship, content, and marketing strategies.
* Oversee and evaluate third-party research vendors and tools to ensure data accuracy, cost-effectiveness, and methodological rigor.
* Stay current on data analytics trends, visualization best practices, and emerging tools in audience analytics.
** Required skills / experience:
*** Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
* 2–5 years of experience in data analysis, technical analytics, or similar role.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently with attention to detail and accuracy.
* Experience with data visualization tools such as Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, macros)  and Tableau (preferred).
* Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to translate technical insights into business recommendations.
* Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.
* Collaborative team player with a proactive, curious mindset.
