Payroll Specialist

Ready to play a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll for thousands of employees? As a Payroll Specialist at Spectrum, you will support our enterprise-wide payroll operations, provide expert assistance to employees, and participate in system enhancements and user training. Your work will streamline processes and ensure our teams are paid correctly, making an essential impact across the organization.

You will be responsible for participating directly in the processing of payroll for assigned Charter Communications lines of business according to established processing schedule. You will provide payroll related support for all employees across the enterprise, including helpdesk phone support, direct email support, and other workflow processing systems. You may participate in user training, system upgrade testing initiatives, and reconciliation of payroll related general ledger accounts.

This role may specialize in one of the three areas - QC, exceptions maintenance, and garnishments processing.

• Administer and process payroll for assigned line of business on a bi-weekly basis
• Maintain processing task list and documentation according to department standards
• Provide payroll support to all employees across the enterprise. Answer employee questions and concerns via phone or email
• Provide support covering department help desk
• Provide support and coverage for other team members when needed
• Scan, link and route payroll documentation using 'Perceptive Content'
• Participate in system testing as required for software/hardware upgrades, implementations, and integrations
• Participate in corporate sponsored system training efforts
• Continuously monitor daily duties for efficiency
• Process benefit deduction adjustment request, distribute benefit emails to assigned processing team, and review adjustments during biweekly payroll processing
• Distribute Short-Term Disability items to the assigned processing team. Items include check requests, short-term disability files, and pay adjustments
• Process stop-payment and reissue request

• Office environment
• Flexibility to work beyond established Mon‑Fri schedule as needed
• Occasional weekend work may be required

• High school diploma required
• FPC required (either at hire or within 18 months)

• 2+ years previous multi-state payroll processing experience

• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
• Knowledge of Oracle HCM preferred
• Knowledge of Kronos timekeeping system preferred
• Strong data entry experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Some college level business classes desired
• CPP desired
