Collins Aerospace is seeking an experienced Automation Implementation Lead to design, develop, and lead enterprise automation solutions that drive efficiency, scalability, and operational excellence. In this role, you will partner closely with engineering, IT, and business stakeholders to define automation strategy, establish best practices, and deliver innovative solutions across complex systems and environments.

  • This is a hybrid position based out of one of Collins Aerospace’s major facilities
What YOU will do:
  • Own and lead automation capabilities as products, defining a phased automation solution roadmap (MVP to scale) across integration, workflow automation, RPA, intelligent document processing, and AI-enabled automation techniques.
  • Define and lead the automation capabilities & implementation (of use cases) roadmap, including integration, workflow automation, RPA, intelligent document processing, and AI-enabled automation techniques.
  • Contribute to the design, assessment, and implementation of integration and middleware patterns (e.g., APIs, EDI, B2B, event-driven) to enable automation across critical enterprise systems (SAP, PLM, ERPs, data platforms).
  • Translate future-state automation vision into actionable solution designs and roadmaps, aligning initiatives to business objectives and measurable outcomes.
  • Define and scale enterprise-wide integration and automation patterns, enabling consistent delivery while supporting incremental adoption by execution teams.
  • Create future-state automation designs, narratives, and strategy documents that align automation opportunities to business objectives and measurable value.
  • Define and scale enterprise-wide integration and automation patterns, building a roadmap that standardizes how systems connect, communicate, and automate across the organization.
  • Conduct and guide process observation and documentation, including process mapping, task analysis, and identification of automation candidates.
  • Facilitate workshops with SMEs to understand pain points, bottlenecks, and experience gaps.
  • Translate business requirements into conceptual and technical automation designs.
  • Lead proofs-of-concept, prototypes, and minimum viable products to validate proposed Automation Solutions.
  • Oversee solution design choices including scalability, resiliency, cost, compliance, and total value.
  • Ensure sustainable deployments and smooth operations by partnering with infrastructure, cybersecurity, development, and platform owners.
  • Use human-in-the-loop and other UX-automation techniques to blend human judgment with machine efficiency.
  • Advocate for automation as a first-class technology capability across Collins.
  • Contribute to DT maturity assessments and help evolve our automation and integration competencies.

Qualifications YOU Must Have:
  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position (U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder).
  • Demonstrated experience in automation and / or integration architecture, with a history of defining target states and guiding execution.
  • 2+ years leading intelligent automation, integration, or user‑experience-driven digital initiatives.
