This position ideally works a hybrid schedule in Charlotte, NC. (Tuesday-Thursday in-office). Strong preference for candidates who are in Charlotte, NC, or willing to relocate.

About the Role

Lending Tree is seeking a Snowflake & Data Platform Operations Engineer to join our Platform Operations team. You will automate, scale, and support our cloud‑based data ecosystem (Snowflake, AWS/Azure). This is a hands‑on role focused on eliminating operational toil through CI/CD, robust monitoring, and automation‑first engineering.

Key Responsibilities
  • Snowflake Administration:
    Manage environments, security policies (RBAC), and performance tuning; optimize cost and query efficiency.
  • Platform Automation:
    Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for database deployments using Git Lab and tools like Liquibase or Red Gate.
  • Cloud Integration:
    Support integrations between Snowflake and AWS/Azure services, including object storage, messaging, and serverless functions (Lambda/Azure Functions).
  • Pipeline & Streaming Ops:
    Maintain batch and streaming (Confluent Kafka) architectures; troubleshoot ETL/ELT failures and ensure data observability.
  • Security & Reliability:
    Implement logging, auditing, and IAM controls; participate in incident response and root cause analysis (RCA).
  • Collaboration:

    Partner with Data Engineering and Stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
Required Qualifications
  • Expertise:
    Deep hands‑on experience with Snowflake administration and database performance tuning.
  • Cloud & Dev Ops:
    Proficiency in AWS or Azure and building CI/CD pipelines for data platforms.
  • Data Flow:
    Experience supporting Kafka (streaming) and ETL/ELT workflows.
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Strong scripting skills (Python, SQL, or Bash) and familiarity with Git‑based workflows.
  • Troubleshooting:
    Proven ability to diagnose complex issues across distributed cloud systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Infrastructure‑as‑Code (Terraform/Cloud Formation).
  • Familiarity with orchestration tools like Airflow.
  • Experience with event‑driven or serverless architectures.
  • Knowledge of cloud cost optimization and observability tools.
