Sr Advanced Data Governance Specialist
As a Sr Advanced Data Governance Specialist here at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity, governance and accessibility of our enterprise data and AI governance assets. This role ensures data and AI assets are trusted, compliant, explainable, and fit for analytics, reporting, and AI‑enabled use cases across the enterprise. Your expertise in data governance will help shape our data management strategies, ensuring compliance and driving business insights through effective data utilization.
In this role, you will impact our organization by establishing robust data governance frameworks that enhance data quality and compliance, ultimately enabling data‑driven decision‑making across the company. You will report directly to our Data Governance leader and will work out of our Phoenix, AZ or Charlotte, NC location on a hybrid schedule. For the first 90 days, new hires will work onsite Monday‑Friday.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement enterprise data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data quality, integrity, and regulatory compliance.
- Define and maintain data ownership, stewardship, and accountability models across domains and systems.
- Partner with cross‑functional teams to identify data requirements and embed governance into business, cloud, analytics, and AI/ML solutions.
- Lead data quality management, including rule definition, issue remediation, and root cause analysis.
- Establish and govern data catalog, inventory, metadata, lineage, and classification standards, including approval workflows.
- Serve as a subject‑matter expert for data governance tooling, including multi‑domain MDM, transactional data, hierarchies, reference data, catalog, and lineage solutions.
- Advise data product and platform teams on governance‑by‑design during solution development and implementation.
- Collaborate with Privacy, Risk, and Security teams to ensure policy and regulatory compliance.
- Define and track governance metrics, dashboards, and reporting to measure effectiveness and adoption.
- Drive education, documentation, and best practices to embed governance into daily data operations.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics.
- 5 or more years of experience in data engineering or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of data management principles, practices, and technologies including (Informatica, Collibra, MDG…)
- Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks, data quality, and compliance standards.
- Proficiency in data management tools and technologies, including data integration and migration processes.
- Experience with data privacy regulations and best practices in data security.
- Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- Experience leading enterprise data management and governance initiatives.
- Experience with highly regulated industry.
- Enterprise strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on data quality.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment.
- Excellent project management skills and attention to detail.
