Solution Architect; AI​/ML

Overview

Digital Solution Architect (AI/ML) – 12‑month W2 contract in Charlotte, NC. Pay $80/hour.

• Drive strategic direction for digital application development and delivery to the cloud.
• Work with a small team of solution architects and Agile teams to modernize the application stack.
• Provide in‑depth technical expertise on cloud migration decisions.
• Partner with Cyber, Enterprise & Modern Architecture and Infrastructure teams to enable flexible application patterns.
• Translate business requirements into scalable, flexible and secure cloud solutions.
• Accelerate client’s ability to build and migrate applications and workloads to the Cloud.
• Design C4 artifacts throughout the digital space:
  Cloud, Web, Mobile, AI, API, SaaS, and COTS products.
• Architect complex Big Data/AI/ML analytics product migrations to AWS.
• Create technical designs, activity diagrams, sequence diagrams, API specifications and message models.
• Lead and guide development, testing and delivery of features across teams.
• Influence technology strategy and product solutions with best practices.
• Communicate technical solutions to senior management.

• 5‑7+ years of experience designing, developing, and leading web applications.
• Experience in AI/ML architecture or related roles.
• Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and their AI/ML services.
• Experience with Terraform, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD.
• Experience designing and delivering applications using Terraform, S3, Lambda, Kinesis, Athena, EC2, EKS, EMR.
• Experience with real‑time streaming (Kafka) and analytics pipelines.
• Strong background in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall).
• Coaching and leadership of other IT architects and lead engineers (experience managing staff).
• Knowledge of utility forecasting, GRID planning, or DERMs solutions is a plus.
• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related engineering field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Web application design and development.
• Data management: collection, storage, visualization, real‑time operations data.
• Cloud migration strategies, architecture, and implementation.
• API design and externalizing APIs for third‑party consumption.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.
• Real‑time streaming (Kafka), Big Data, AI & ML analytics.
• Agile operating model support and guidance.

Hourly rate: $80.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
