Information Security Engineer / Cyber Security Exercise Coordinator / Hybrid / Charlotte, NC
Our client is a leading financial services organization focused on strengthening enterprise cyber resilience and incident response capabilities. Based in Charlotte, NC, they are looking to hire an Information Security Engineer (Cyber Security Exercise Coordinator) on an 18-month contract basis. This is a unique opportunity to join a highly visible Workforce Development and Exercise team responsible for designing, developing, conducting, and evaluating cybersecurity exercises that enhance enterprise readiness.
The team partners across multiple business units and external organizations to improve cyber resilience and drive continuous improvement through lessons learned. This role offers exposure to large‑scale strategic initiatives, executive‑level collaboration, and opportunities to influence cybersecurity programs across the enterprise. Candidates with an interest in incident response, cyber resilience, tabletop exercises, and security strategy will gain valuable experience in a collaborative environment with strong work‑life balance and long‑term growth potential.

Required Skills & Experience- 4+ years of Information Security Engineering experience
- 3+ years of strategy and planning experience
- 3+ years of information security experience in one or more of the following disciplines: incident response, vulnerability management, information security monitoring, host/network forensics, cyber‑crime investigation, penetration testing, business continuity, or cyber threat intelligence
- 1+ year of Cyber Resilience experience
- Experience collaborating with multiple teams and stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- 3+ years of Incident Management System experience
- 3+ years of Incident Response Protocols and Tools experience
- Experience creating cyber assessment exercises
- Knowledge of threat analysis and information security risk assessment
- Understanding of Information Security Frameworks, standards, and best practices
- Ability to articulate issues, risks, and solutions to technical and non‑technical audiences
- Experience with SIEM products
- Experience managing complex security scenarios and developing innovative solutions
- Experience with metrics, KPIs, training curriculum development, and cybersecurity workforce development programs
