Data Engineer – Cockroach DB, Data Stage, Oracle
Location:
Charlotte, NC
Desired experience: 10 - 15 years of experience
Responsibilities- Design, implement, and manage Cockroach DB distributed database clusters
- Ensure high availability, scalability, and fault tolerance of database systems
- Perform performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing
- Manage data distribution, replication, and consistency models
- Support database migrations from traditional RDBMS (e.g., Oracle) to Cockroach DB
- Monitor database health and resolve performance bottlenecks and failures
- Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
- Develop and maintain ETL jobs using IBM Data Stage for data extraction, transformation, and loading
- Design data integration workflows to support business and analytics requirements
- Optimize Data Stage job performance and scheduling
- Handle data ingestion from multiple sources into target systems
- Perform data validation, transformation, and quality checks
- Troubleshoot ETL failures and ensure data pipeline reliability
- Manage and support Oracle database environments
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and PL/SQL scripts
- Perform database performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization
- Support data modeling and schema design
- Assist in data migration and integration with Cockroach DB and Data Stage workflows
- Maintain data integrity, security, and governance standards
- Primary skill set:
Cockroach DB, Data Stage, Oracle (PL/SQL), ETL/ELT, SQL, Data Modeling, Performance Tuning, Data Migration, Data Warehousing, Data Governance, Backup & Recovery, Monitoring, Automation, Git, Cloud Experience - Minimum combined experience: 10 years
