Senior Network Security Engineer

A consulting partner supporting a large enterprise financial services environment is hiring a Senior Network Security Engineer on a contract basis. This is a hybrid role with in office work Tuesday through Thursday and can be based in Charlotte NC, Dallas TX, Scottsdale AZ, or Wayne PA. The role is focused on Zscaler SASE technologies, Palo Alto firewalls, and enterprise network security engineering.

This opportunity is well suited for a senior level engineer who enjoys working in complex, high scale environments and wants ownership over security deployments and design decisions. The team is actively modernizing their network security strategy and is looking for someone who can lead implementations, influence policy, and support advanced troubleshooting while partnering closely with internal teams and vendors.

Required Skills & Experience

• Senior level experience in network security engineering
• Hands on experience deploying and supporting Zscaler solutions
• Strong Palo Alto firewall experience including policy design and troubleshooting
• Experience with SASE architectures and secure access strategies
• Ability to troubleshoot complex network and security issues
• Experience creating technical documentation and diagrams

Desired Skills & Experience

• Experience working in large enterprise or regulated environments
• Automation or scripting experience related to network or security workflows
• Experience supporting Tier 2 or Tier 3 escalations
• Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to other engineers

What You Will Be Doing

• Deploying, configuring, and supporting Zscaler security technologies
• Designing, reviewing, and optimizing firewall and SASE policies
• Partnering with vendors and internal teams on solution design
• Supporting complex network security escalations and performance analysis
• Creating documentation, procedures, and solution diagrams
• Identifying opportunities to improve automation and operational efficiency

Daily Responsibilities

• 65% Hands on engineering and troubleshooting
• 15% Design, documentation, and planning
