Database Administrator

Job Description

Database Administrator position located in Charlotte, NC. Contract duration 6+ months. Only W2 candidates accepted.

• Support production and non-production databases with Oracle 11g+, Oracle RAC, and Oracle Golden Gate on UNIX (Solaris and AIX) and Linux OS.
• Define standards and design of physical data storage, maintenance, access and security administration.
• Perform backup and recovery, configure database parameters, prototype designs against logical data models, define data repository, data dictionary and warehousing requirements.
• Optimize database access and allocate/re-allocate resources for optimum configuration, performance and cost.

• 6+ years of experience with database design, testing, implementation, maintenance and administration across multiple platforms.
• Experience managing very large databases (1 TB or larger) mandatory.
• Experience with UNIX shell scripting mandatory.
• Strong SQL skills, including rewriting complex queries for performance improvement.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task and work with onshore and offshore teams.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Face-to-face interview required.
