AWS Cloud Architect

Job Description:

As an AWS Cloud Architect, you will serve as the strategic visionary and technical leader responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing the organization's entire cloud computing ecosystem. This role blends advanced technical mastery of Amazon Web Services (AWS) with strategic business acumen to transform legacy workloads into scalable, resilient, highly secure, and cost-optimized cloud-native environments. You will lead cloud migration strategies, establish governance frameworks, and collaborate with key stakeholders to align our cloud roadmap with overall business objectives.

• Blueprint Creation:
  Design end-to-end cloud architectures that prioritize high availability, fault tolerance, and seamless disaster recovery (DR) capabilities.
• Migration Strategy:
  Lead complex cloud migration efforts, formulating robust strategies (e.g., re-platforming, re-architecting) to securely transition legacy on-premises applications and big data systems to AWS.

  Create and govern cloud adoption roadmaps, establishing standards for containerization, serverless architectures, and API management across the enterprise.

• Secure by Design:
  Establish secure cloud landing zones using AWS Control Tower, Organizations, and IAM Identity Center, enforcing strict, least-privilege security boundaries.
• Compliance Standards:
  Design network security frameworks (VPCs, firewalls, transit gateways) and encryption standards (KMS, CloudHSM) that comply with global regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2, NIST).

• Cost Optimization:
  Conduct architectural reviews (using the AWS Well-Architected Framework) to optimize cloud resources, reduce operational spend, and model cloud budgets.
• Performance Engineering:
  Establish baseline metrics for monitoring and telemetry, designing auto-scaling policies and optimizing global content delivery (Cloud Front, Global Accelerator).

• Technical Mentorship:
  Act as the primary technical advisor to engineering, Dev Ops, and database teams, helping translate architectural blueprints into functional code.
• Stakeholder Alignment:
  Confidently present cloud strategies, cost projections, and technical roadmaps to C-level executives and non-technical stakeholders.

• Professional
  
  Experience:
  
  12+ years in IT/Software Engineering, with at least 5+ years of dedicated experience architecting large-scale enterprise AWS systems.
• Cloud Migration Expertise:
  Proven track record of successfully migrating large databases and monolithic systems into microservice/containerized AWS environments.
• Deep IaC Mastery:
  Extensive experience defining multi-account environments using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or Cloud Formation).

  Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; proven ability to facilitate workshops, resolve architectural debates, and mentor senior engineering staff.
