Position: Business / Data Analyst

Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyze, document, and refine business and technical requirements for new features, enhancements, and operational initiatives.
  • Translate requirements into detailed functional specifications, user stories, process flows, and development-ready documentation.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for business stakeholders and facilitate communication between business users and technical teams.
  • Partner with offshore developers to clarify requirements, answer questions, and ensure successful delivery of solutions.
  • Support ongoing project enhancements, future implementation phases, and operational support initiatives.
  • Perform data analysis to validate requirements, investigate issues, and support decision‑making efforts.
  • Develop and execute SQL queries to support reporting, auditing, troubleshooting, and data validation activities.
  • Analyze data trends, identify anomalies, perform root‑cause analysis, and clearly communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure solutions meet business objectives and compliance requirements.
  • Support reporting, reconciliation, and audit‑related activities while maintaining data quality and accuracy.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Analytics, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
  • CBAP or other Business Analysis certifications (preferred).
  • 1‑3+ years of experience in a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or hybrid Business/Data Analyst role.
  • Proven experience eliciting, documenting, and managing business and technical requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Experience analyzing large datasets and translating findings into actionable business insights.
  • Experience working with offshore development teams and translating business requirements into technical solutions.

    Strong understanding of relational databases, data structures, and data flows.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Strong SQL skills with the ability to write queries from scratch, including complex joins, table relationships, and data validation techniques.
  • Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and development teams.
  • Ability to investigate data discrepancies, identify trends, and explain the story behind the data.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred
  • Experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational database platforms.
  • Familiarity with Apache NiFi, ETL processes, data integrations, or data ingestion pipelines.
  • Experience supporting regulatory, compliance, auditing, telecommunications, or subsidy‑related initiatives.
Compensation

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors such as relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is not eligible for bonuses, incentives or commissions.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
