10 is currently seeking a Senior Database Automation Engineer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

We are seeking a seasoned and motivated developer with in-depth expertise in Python, shell scripting, and various database technologies including AWS RDS, Postgres, and MSSQL. This role focuses on database automation and security within an enterprise environment. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic, proactive, and quick learner capable of working independently and as part of a collaborative team following agile practices.

Responsibilities:

• Develop automation solutions for database systems using extensive Python and shell scripting
• Manage and secure database environments including AWS RDS, Postgres, and MSSQL
• Implement and maintain database security concepts such as native audit logging, encryption, and entitlement management
• Work within a scrum framework and utilize agile practices for project delivery

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience as a SQL Server Engineer or other database developer
• Extensive experience with Python and shell scripting
• In-depth expertise with Linux, REST API, AWS RDS, Postgres, and MSSQL
• Strong knowledge of database security concepts including native audit, encryption in-transit and at-rest, entitlements, and password vaulting
• Familiarity with the scrum framework, agile practices, and tools like Jira and CI/CD pipelines
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Able to work a hybrid schedule with a minimum of 3 days per week onsite

Desired skills:

• Experience with Guardium or similar database activity monitoring tools
• Knowledge of Power Shell and Ansible

Pay range: $79.74 - $87.74 per hour
