We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Database Administrator Engineer to lead the architecture, engineering, automation, security, availability, and operational support of enterprise database platforms across both on‑premises and cloud environments. This senior‑level role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining highly available, scalable, secure, and automated database solutions supporting mission‑critical business applications and high‑volume transactional systems.
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in DB2 LUW, Microsoft SQL Server, AWS database technologies, infrastructure automation, disaster recovery, database modernization, and cloud transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Architect, deploy, administer, and optimize enterprise DB2 LUW and Microsoft SQL Server environments.
- Manage database lifecycle activities including installation, upgrades, patching, performance tuning, capacity planning, backup and recovery, and security administration.
- Ensure database platforms meet enterprise standards for availability, scalability, reliability, and compliance.
- Develop and maintain database operational standards, governance frameworks, and best practices.
- Design, implement, and administer cloud‑native database solutions within AWS environments.
- Engineer resilient and scalable database architectures utilizing AWS RDS, EC2‑hosted databases, EBS storage, AWS Backup, Cloud Watch, IAM, KMS, and related cloud services.
- Develop and execute enterprise database migration strategies utilizing replication‑based and low‑downtime migration methodologies.
- Optimize cloud database performance, resiliency, operational efficiency, and cost management.
- Design, implement, and support enterprise high availability and disaster recovery solutions.

- Lead disaster recovery testing, failover exercises, and business continuity planning initiatives.
- Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions utilizing Terraform.
- Automate database provisioning, monitoring, patching, backup validation, and recovery processes.
- Develop automation using Python, Power Shell, Bash, Ansible, Puppet, and related technologies.
- Integrate database deployments into CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops workflows.
- Promote Git Ops and automation‑first operational models.
- Implement database security controls aligned with enterprise security standards and regulatory requirements.
- Configure encryption at rest and in transit.
- Design and maintain least‑privilege access controls and auditing solutions.
- Support compliance initiatives including PCI‑DSS, SOC, NIST, FFIEC, and related frameworks.
- Participate in security assessments, audits, vulnerability remediation, and risk mitigation activities.
- Serve as a senior technical advisor and subject matter expert for enterprise database technologies.
- Mentor junior engineers and database administrators.
- Lead architecture reviews, modernization efforts, and technology evaluations.
- Act as the escalation point for complex database incidents and enterprise projects.
- Present technical recommendations and strategic initiatives to senior leadership and governance committees.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
- 10+ years of enterprise database administration and engineering experience.
- Expert‑level administration experience with Db2 LUW 11.5+ on Linux.
- Expert‑level administration experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2019+.
- Extensive experience with Db2 HADR, Pacemaker clustering, and Q Replication.
