Reporting to the Executive Director of IT within the Office of OneIT, this role drives innovation, operational excellence, and data integrity to strategically support undergraduate recruitment and admissions. The Administrator is responsible for system configuration, cyclical system readiness, advanced workflow automation, and cross‑system integrations (such as Banner/ERP).

Acting as a bridge between enrollment operations, OneIT, and external technical partners, this position analyzes business processes, designs scalable CRM solutions, and provides critical data reporting and end‑user training to support data‑informed decision‑making across the enrollment lifecycle.

Summary of Position Responsibilities
  • Lead the functional administration, architecture, and optimization of the Slate CRM environment to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Build, configure, and maintain strategic Slate features, including custom portals (for prospects, applicants, and partners), rules, complex application workflows, automated decision letters, event registration modules, and scheduler tools.
  • Manage and execute critical cyclical processes, including end‑of‑cycle wrap‑up, system testing, data archiving, and new admissions cycle preparation.
  • Continuously innovate and streamline business processes within Slate to enhance applicant yield and improve the user experience for prospective students and staff.
  • Oversee system audits, database hygiene, and security protocols to ensure strict data compliance, identity access management, and user permission tracking.
  • Manage the implementation, automation, and troubleshooting of ongoing and ad hoc data imports/exports (e.g., test scores, student search vendors, common applications).
  • Partner with data analytics teams to manage API integrations and ensure seamless downstream data flows between Slate and the institution’s ERP (Banner).
  • Design and execute complex queries and analytical reports to monitor recruitment trends, application yield, funnel metrics, and external surveys.
  • Collaborate with Enrollment Communications to design, launch, and monitor multi‑channel communication campaigns using Slate Deliver (Email, SMS, print, and drip campaigns).
  • Act as the liaison between admissions offices, academic colleges, and OneIT to identify technical needs and pilot emerging features.
  • Partner with enrollment leadership to translate strategic initiatives (e.g., targeted recruitment) into functional technical workflows inside the CRM.

  • Advanced Slate Expertise:
Demonstrated mastery of Slate’s architecture, including portal development, Configurable Joins (CJ) query building, rule writing, Liquid markup, and campaign execution.
  • Higher Education & Enrollment Landscape:
Deep understanding of standard higher education recruitment pipelines, admissions processing cycles, and regulatory compliance guidelines (e.g., FERPA). Familiarity with university ERP systems (specifically Ellucian Banner) is highly preferred.
  • Analytical & Problem‑Solving

    Skills:

Strong capacity for business process analysis; ability to independently research, diagnose complex technical bugs, and formulate logical technical solutions.
  • Project Management & Communication:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to translate complex technical concepts to non‑technical users and collaborate across matrixed institutional divisions. Ability to work efficiently in a cyclical, deadline‑driven campus environment.
