Data Analyst

Job OverviewThe Data Analyst is an individual contributor responsible for applying critical thinking and analytical skills to complex business challenges. The role focuses on data management, quality, and delivery of insights to support strategic business decisions across the organization.
Responsibilities- Provide subject‑matter expertise for a single dataset used as Control Reference Data by key stakeholders.
- Investigate and develop remediation plans for data quality issues.
- Interface with business partners to gather data needs and requirements for new data requests.
- Track, prioritize, and manage changes to reference data.
- Drive consistency of reference data across the organization.
- Assist the team with data analysis and ensure the quality of analytical outputs.
- Continuously refine value‑added processes and transformations to improve outcome accuracy.
- Create SQL scripts and perform user acceptance testing for new data requests.
- Collaborate with stakeholders including business reporting, product‑specific data stewards, technology partners, upstream data providers, data management, and risk/compliance teams.
- Identify, review, and evaluate potential upstream systems to determine optimal data sourcing strategies.
- Follow proper risk disciplines and proactively elevate issues as needed.
- Adhere to enterprise data management standards and risk data aggregation requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field.
- 3 to 6 years of data analysis and product expertise within the financial industry.
- Strong data management experience.
- Familiarity with transactional databases and analytical experience with SQL.
- Proficiency in SQL, data analysis, and Excel.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, think independently, and build relationships across a matrixed organization.
- Detail‑oriented, organized, and capable of working independently.
- Intermediate level professional experience.
- Location:
Hybrid in Charlotte, NC or Dallas, TX.
