Sr. Azure DevOps Engineer

Hybrid: 2x a week onsite in Charlotte, NC or Hartford CT

Optomi, in partnership with our premier client in the insurance industry, is seeking an experienced Dev Ops Engineer to help modernize and automate enterprise software delivery processes within a cloud-based environment. This role will focus on improving CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, release automation, and database deployment processes while reducing manual effort across the software delivery lifecycle. The ideal candidate has a strong Azure Dev Ops background, experience building automation beyond standard pipelines, and a passion for improving operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Dev Ops, Platform Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering.
• Strong experience with Azure Dev Ops, including building and maintaining YAML-based CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience designing and implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Strong scripting or development experience with the ability to automate complex operational and deployment workflows.
• Experience supporting cloud-based infrastructure and application deployments.
• Solid understanding of server infrastructure, deployment processes, and release management.
• Experience working with source control and modern software development practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Liquibase for database schema and deployment automation.
• Experience automating database deployments across platforms such as SQL Server and Oracle.
• Experience with Helm for application packaging and deployment.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Azure Dev Ops CI/CD pipelines using YAML.
• Modernize existing deployment pipelines, including migrating legacy pipeline configurations to YAML.
• Identify manual processes throughout the software delivery lifecycle and develop automation solutions to improve efficiency and consistency.
• Automate application releases, infrastructure provisioning, and database deployment processes.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Develop automation beyond standard CI/CD capabilities using scripting and software development techniques.
• Support release management activities and continuously improve deployment reliability and repeatability.
• Implement and maintain database deployment automation, including schema changes and cross-database deployment workflows.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, development, architecture, and platform engineering teams to establish Dev Ops best practices and improve delivery processes.
• Create reusable automation, documentation, and deployment standards to support enterprise engineering teams.
