Technical Project Manager - MSFT Entra​/UKG

Job Description Project Overview

Sonic Automotive is seeking a seasoned Technical Project Manager to support a multi-phase UKG and Microsoft Entra  initiative. The project is part of Sonic's broader identity management modernization effort and will focus on driving Phase 2 of the UKG implementation while providing continuity through the final phase of the program, expected in early 2027.

The team is specifically looking for a PM who has successfully led similar enterprise implementations, can manage complex integrations and data migrations, and can bring lessons learned from prior UKG deployments.

• Enabled Microsoft Entra  employees.
• Completed Active Directory transition to Entra .
• Integrated Entra  UKG foundational capabilities.
• Team learned that a more experienced PM is needed to lead future implementation phases.

Primary focus will be:

• Bringing contractors into UKG as the system of record.
• Integrating contractor identities into Microsoft Entra .
• Managing dependencies across HR, Technology, Compliance, and Audit teams.
• Driving data migration efforts.
• Coordinating API development and third-party system integrations.
• Managing vendors involved in the implementation.
• Establishing project governance, risk tracking, and delivery execution.

Expected to occur in early 2027 and may include:

• Additional dealership system integrations.
• Expanded third-party platform integrations.
• Final stages of the UKG enterprise rollout.

• Technical Project Management experience.
• Enterprise software implementation experience.
• Experience leading:
  • API integrations
  • Third-party system integrations
  • Data migrations
  • SDLC-driven initiatives
• Strong stakeholder management experience.
• Strong vendor management experience.
• Experience working across multiple project methodologies.
• Ability to manage complex cross-functional initiatives involving HR and Technology organizations.

• Hands‑on UKG Workforce Management implementation experience.
• Microsoft Entra .
• Identity & Access Management experience including:
  • Single Sign-On (SSO)
  • User provisioning/deprovisioning
  • Governance controls
  • Active Directory to Entra
• ERP or Workforce Management implementation background.
• PMP Certification strongly preferred.
• Industry‑specific experience is a plus.
