Role Overview

The Onboarding & Training Specialist designs, delivers, and maintains onboarding and ongoing training programs for Revenue Cycle Management staff, with a primary focus on Epic workflows and revenue cycle operations. This role ensures new hires are productive quickly and existing staff stay current as systems, SOPs, and payer requirements evolve. The Specialist partners closely with RCM leadership, IT/Epic teams, and functional area leads (AR, customer service, billing and follow up) to translate operational SOPs into structured, role-specific training content, and serves as a hands‑on resource for staff navigating Epic system access, work queues, and revenue cycle workflows.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver onboarding programs for new RCM hires, including Epic system access setup, role‑specific workflow training, and orientation to departmental SOPs
  • Build and maintain training curricula and materials for Epic revenue cycle workflows (e.g., work queues, charge review, claim edits, coding‑related functions) tailored to specific roles (coding, AR, financial counseling)
  • Deliver ongoing training as Epic builds, SOPs, or payer requirements change, ensuring staff remain current and compliant
  • Partner with RCM leadership and functional area leads to identify training needs, skill gaps, and onboarding pain points
  • Coordinate with IT/Epic teams on system access provisioning, build changes, and training environment maintenance
  • Develop job aids, quick‑reference guides, and process documentation to support self‑service learning
  • Track and report on training completion, time‑to‑productivity for new hires, and identified knowledge gaps
  • Support change management initiatives by training staff on new processes, tools, or system updates
  • Maintain a training calendar and coordinate logistics for group and individual training sessions
  • Gather feedback from trainees and managers to continuously improve training content and delivery methods
  • Work AR work queues and account resolution when training or onboarding is not needed.

This posting is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities of this position. CNSA retains the discretion to add to or change the job responsibilities of any position at any time with or without notice.

Requirements
  • Minimum 3-5 years of revenue cycle management experience, with direct exposure to Epic workflows
  • At least a High School Diploma or GED
  • Demonstrated Epic expertise across revenue cycle functions (e.g., work queues, claim edits, charge review, registration/scheduling touchpoints as applicable)
  • Experience designing and delivering training programs in a healthcare RCM environment
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, and instructional design skills
  • Ability to translate complex system workflows and SOPs into clear, role‑specific training content
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience training staff during an EHR/PM system migration or go‑live
  • Familiarity with multiple RCM functional areas (AR, customer service, billing and follow up)
  • Experience with learning management systems (LMS) or training tracking tools
  • Background in instructional design or adult learning principles
  • Experience supporting multi‑entity or MSO training programs
