AboutThe Role
Our Fortune 100 client is seeking a highly analytical Business Systems Analyst to join their team in a hybrid role based in St. Louis, MO, Charlotte, NC, or Denver, CO. This is not a traditional project-resource BA position—Business Analysts in this role become long-term stewards of the applications and business capabilities they support, developing deep subject matter expertise and building lasting relationships with business partners.
You will partner closely with business stakeholders, end users, technical teams, and senior leadership to support and enhance assigned applications and business capabilities. The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for discovering and clarifying business needs, improving processes, and driving successful outcomes. You will be expected to elicit and define requirements from ambiguous requests, investigate business problems, build trusted relationships, analyze processes, and communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, technical aptitude, and the ability to operate independently while taking ownership of outcomes. Experience in telecommunications is a plus but not required. This role offers competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for professional growth within a Fortune 100 environment.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned applications and business capabilities, developing deep expertise over time
- Independently elicit and define business requirements from vague, incomplete, or ambiguous requests through investigation and analysis
- Investigate business problems by asking probing questions, identifying underlying needs, and challenging assumptions when appropriate
- Analyze business processes, stakeholder needs, application functionality, constraints, and dependencies to clarify and organize requirements
- Build and maintain trusted, long-term relationships with business stakeholders, end users, technical teams, and senior leadership
- Communicate complex business processes and application functionality clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including end users and executives
- Take ownership of outcomes, proactively identifying opportunities, issues, and next steps without waiting for direction
- Partner with developers, QA professionals, technical teams, and other stakeholders to ensure business needs are understood and addressed in solutions
- Support production escalations and project decisions using strong analytical thinking, business knowledge, and professional judgment
- Document requirements, findings, decisions, and business processes as appropriate, focusing on solving business problems rather than documentation for its own sake
- Demonstrated experience performing genuine requirements discovery in environments where business requirements were not simply handed to you
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to investigate ambiguous problems and develop clarity from incomplete information
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders and end users, not just within a Business Analyst organization
- Demonstrated ability to learn new business domains and develop subject matter expertise quickly
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor communication to both technical and executive audiences
- Professional confidence and composure when working through challenging situations, production escalations, or competing stakeholder perspectives
- Ability to take ownership of outcomes, build expertise, and operate independently without waiting for detailed direction
- Technical aptitude, whether developed through prior technical experience or demonstrated through Business Analyst work
- Ability to understand system architecture, engage confidently with technical teams, and work with technical concepts such as queries or application functionality
- Evidence of progressive responsibility, expanded scope, or increasing ownership throughout your career
- Telecommunications experience is a plus but not required
- Competitive medical, dental, and vision plans
- 401(k) plan with company match and full vesting upon eligibility
- Health Savings Account and Dependent Care FSA options
- Supplemental coverage to fit your needs
- Paid time off, sick time, and paid company holidays (including 6 paid holidays)
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP) with services like virtual counseling, financial and legal services, and life coaching
- Relationship-driven process to find your best fit
- Regular meetings to ensure quality in your engagement
