Java Production Support Engineer

10 is currently seeking a Java Production Support Engineer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC. This is a long-term contract opportunity.

This is a Production Services role responsible for ensuring the stability and performance of critical applications. The ideal candidate will handle problem and incident management, application monitoring, and operational readiness. This position involves taking ownership of escalations, troubleshooting complex issues using advanced query and programming skills, and driving improvements in production services.

Responsibilities:

• Manage Problem/Incident Management, Release/Deployment, Operational Readiness, Capacity/Availability Management, and Application Monitoring
• Identify possible production failure scenarios, create incident tickets, and communicate effectively with development and internal business operations teams
• Identify vulnerabilities and opportunities for improvement, and maintain metrics to help drive analysis
• Create and enhance administrative, operational, and technical policies and procedures
• Take ownership of escalations and perform troubleshooting, analysis, research, and resolution using advanced query and programming skills
• Serve as an escalation point for the resolution of moderately complex unresolved problems, complaints, and service requests
• Provide leadership and strategic/tactical direction on technology issues and service alternatives

Requirements:

• 5 or more years in Java development or Production Support, Performance Testing, and/or related technical environment
• 5 or more years working in a Linux environment
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Datadog, or New Relic
• Experience with one or more of the following:
  App Dynamics, Introscope, Dynatrace
• Scripting in Bash and/or Power Shell
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to run triage meetings and handle documentation
• Ability to multi-task and adapt to a dynamic work environment
• Flexibility in work hours for after-hours and weekend support

Pay range: $55.06 - $63.06 per hour
