Charlotte, NC Compensation: $120,000 to $150,000 per year

A company is hiring an ERP Functional Team Lead to lead a team of functional specialists supporting JD Edwards and related ERP technologies across Human Resources and Payroll domains. This role combines hands on functional expertise with leadership responsibility to ensure stable operations, effective delivery and continuous improvement of business processes within the ERP Systems department.

What You'll Do

This role leads and develops a team of functional specialists supporting HR and Payroll systems, establishing clear roles, responsibilities and performance expectations aligned to organizational goals, and providing coaching, feedback and performance management to team members. The Team Lead oversees prioritization and assignment of support, enhancement and project work, balancing production support and project delivery to maintain service levels, and acts as the escalation point for complex issues, leading root cause analysis and coordinating cross functional resolution.

The role ensures adherence to governance, change control and compliance requirements, supports audit activities, enforces segregation of duties and control standards, and builds relationships with business stakeholders while managing vendor performance.

On the functional side, this position oversees day to day support for HR and Payroll systems including JD Edwards, ensuring timely triage and resolution of issues, defects and enhancements, and serves as the functional authority on system capabilities and business alignment. The Team Lead leads ERP initiatives across requirements, design, testing and deployment, translating business needs into functional specifications and guiding solutions through proper testing and production readiness.

The role acts as a liaison between HR/Payroll teams and IT, recommending system improvements and process optimization, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, data integrity and system utilization, and supporting ERP modernization and integration initiatives. The Team Lead also maintains documentation of processes and system changes and supports end user training on system updates.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• 8 or more years of ERP experience with an HR/Payroll focus
• Experience with JD Edwards Enterprise One
• Experience leading teams or acting as a senior functional lead
• Strong functional knowledge of HR and Payroll processes
• ERP configuration, support and implementation experience
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ERP integrations
• Knowledge of audit and compliance frameworks
• Experience with reporting or automation tools
