IT Business Analyst, Business Systems & Technology Analysis, AI Business & Operations, IT Consultant
Job Title
This role connects business needs to technical solutions by translating stakeholder objectives into clear, feasible, well-defined requirements aligned to existing systems, infrastructure, and delivery timelines.
Key Accountabilities
- Define the problem clearly. Partner with business and operations stakeholders to understand incoming needs, identify root causes, and shape ambiguous requests into well-defined problem statements before a solution is proposed.
- Act as the bridge between business and technical teams. Translate business intent into clear, testable requirements that configuration analysts, integration developers, and delivery managers can execute without chasing answers.
- Map process independent of system. Document current-state and ideal-state process flows so the solution fits the problem, rather than shaping the problem to fit an available tool.
- Champion automation-first solution design. Evaluate automation, AI, and emerging capabilities as the preferred path for solving business problems, developing solution recommendations that maximize efficiency, scalability, and experience outcomes while remaining practical and sustainable.
- Validate feasibility before implementation. Use prototypes and proofs of concept where appropriate to demonstrate feasibility, constraints, scalability, infrastructure implications, cost, and delivery considerations — reducing risk before build.
- Ensure solutions are well-defined, feasible, and aligned. Confirm every recommended solution is consistent with requirements, existing platforms, infrastructure, and delivery timelines.
- Identify impacted systems and dependencies. Surface affected systems, data sources, cross-process dependencies, and infrastructure requirements early, so nothing breaks downstream in execution.
- (Future scope) Anchor and grow the capability. As demand proves out, this role may define the discipline for others, and hire and lead junior definition, configuration, and automation talent beneath it.
Decision Authority
- Defines how incoming problems are scoped, framed, and translated into requirements.
- Owns recommendations for solution approach, with a bias toward automation and AI where they can deliver meaningful business value, while exercising sound judgment when configuration, process redesign, or manual intervention is the better option.
- Influences architectural direction and prioritization through evidence-based validation and experimentation.
- Success is measured by the clarity and executability of the requirements produced, the durability of the solutions recommended, and the effective application of automation and AI where they add real value.
Typical
Qualifications:
- 4-year degree (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of related experience
- Demonstrated ability to take ambiguous business problems and make them well-defined and executable
- Fluency in process analysis and requirements translation across business and technical audiences
- Working knowledge of automation and AI as a solution class, with the judgment to know when they fit and when they do not
- Demonstrated experience identifying, designing, or implementing automation solutions that improved business outcomes, operational efficiency, employee experience, or service delivery.
- Comfort operating as a hands-on individual contributor in a lean environment
Location Expectations:
This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.
Benefits:
- Healthcare (medical, dental, vision)
- Basic term and optional term life insurance
- Short-term and long-term disability
- Pregnancy disability and parental leave
- 401(k) and employer-funded retirement plan
- Paid vacation (from two to five weeks depending on salary grade and tenure)
