Middleware Engineer

10 is currently seeking a Middleware Engineer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC, Plano, TX and Pennington, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

This role will lead end-to-end administration duties for critical banking platforms, delivering middleware infrastructure for enterprise projects and regulatory initiatives. The Middleware Engineer ensures production stability, platform remediation, patching, and upgrades while mitigating and managing risk. This position involves collaborating with application and testing teams, providing middleware consultation, and serving as a J2EE architect.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in the design, development, and implementation of systems engineering activities, including OS technical support, systems programming, and data center capabilities
• Lead end-to-end administration duties for critical banking platforms
• Ensure production stability, platform remediation, patching, and upgrades
• Perform middleware installation, configuration, risk mitigation, performance tuning, and L3 production support
• Collaborate with application and testing teams, providing daily middleware advice and consultation
• Create, maintain, and support application deployment templates and make recommendations on J2EE best practices
• Design middleware infrastructure and topology for high availability and failover capability
• Provide technical consultation to other team members and supported areas
• Execute production changes for integrated and regulatory releases with precision

Requirements:

• 5 or more years of experience as a Java/J2EE Middleware Engineer
• Experience with Websphere Portal and Weblogic Portal
• Experience with one or more of the following middleware products:
  Appian, Software AG WEB METHODS
• Proficiency with Linux Operating System
• Experience with Java/Container Framework
• Experience with scripting languages such as shell, python, jython, or perl
• Experience with release deployment tools such as Ansible, Ansible Tower, XLR, Bit Bucket, or Celestial

Desired skills:

• Experience with additional middleware products such as Web Sphere, Tomcat, Apache, Spring Boot, or JBoss
• Experience in a Dev Ops environment
• Familiarity with BMC Remedy, Harmon mDeliver, or BMC Blade logic Server Automation
• Understanding of network infrastructure (HTTP/S, TCP/IP, TLS, DNS, Load-balancers, firewalls, proxies)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong attention to detail
• Prior experience in a similar enterprise environment

Pay range: $58.31 - $66.31 per hour
