Senior Integrated Toolchain Lead for SAP S/4
HANA Transformation
Location:
Remote, Charlotte, NC (With Travel)
Pay Range: $70 - $80 per hour
Duration: 12 months with possible extension
Open to remote with travel 6-8+ years of experience
Job Summary:
Must have skills:
• Core SAP & Toolchain Expertise
• SAP Cloud ALM (CALM)
• SAP LeanIX (EA Repository & Meta Model)
• JIRA / JIRA Xray
• Tricentis TOSCA (test automation)
• Strong experience in SAP S/4
HANA implementations (Greenfield/Brownfield)
• Hands-on expertise in implementing/deploying:
• Experience in large-scale manufacturing S/4
HANA programs (Helix-style transformation)
• Exposure to Signavio + LeanIX + CALM integrated landscape
• Prior experience in setting up ITC
Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Integrated Toolchain Strategy & Architecture:
Define the Integrated Toolchain (ITC) vision and architecture aligned with SAP Activate and SAFe delivery model
Establish end-to-end traceability model across:
• Process (Signavio or equivalent)
• Enterprise Architecture (LeanIX)
• Delivery & backlog (JIRA)
• Test & defect management (CALM/TOSCA)
Design toolchain integration blueprint ensuring data flow consistency and governance
2. Tool Setup, Configuration & Integration:
Lead setup and configuration of:
• SAP Cloud ALM (CALM) for requirements, testing, defect management, and monitoring
• LeanIX for enterprise architecture and capability mapping
• JIRA for agile backlog and delivery execution
• TOSCA for test automation and regression suites
Drive integrations across tools:
• CALM ↔ JIRA (defect & work item synchronization)
• LeanIX ↔ JIRA/CALM (capability to delivery traceability)
Ensure traceability from business process → architecture → backlog → test execution
3. Toolchain Governance & Operating Model:
Define ITC operating model, including:
• Tool ownership & admin model
• Governance cadence (weekly/monthly reviews)
• Change and release management controls
Establish standard templates, workflows, naming conventions, and taxonomy
Drive audit compliance, data quality, and access control mechanisms
4. SAFe & Program Integration:
Align ITC with SAFe delivery constructs (ARTs, PI planning, backlog management)
Enable traceability across:
• ART backlogs (JIRA)
• Cross-ART dependencies
• PI objectives and delivery metrics
Support Solution Train Engineer (STE) and PMO with real-time dashboards and KPIs
5. Analytics, Reporting & Observability:
Implement integrated dashboards for:
• Delivery metrics (velocity, backlog health)
• Testing metrics (coverage, defect leakage)
• Architecture insights (application dependencies via LeanIX)
Enable real-time monitoring and operations visibility using CALM
6. Stakeholder Management & Enablement:
Engage with Enterprise Architects, PMO, QA/TCOE, Basis, Security teams
Conduct tool onboarding workshops and training sessions
Drive adoption across functional teams, system integrators, and business users
Managerial
Skills:
Strong stakeholder communication, executive reporting, governance mindset, adoption leadership, structured problem solving, cross-functional collaboration, and ability to operate effectively across global, multi-vendor, functional, technical, architecture, QA, Basis, security, PMO, and business teams. Focus on standardization, scalability, audit compliance, data quality, access governance, and sustainable toolchain adoption.

3. How have you established end-to-end traceability from business process and enterprise architecture to backlog, testing, defects, and reporting?
4. Explain your experience working in SAFe Agile environments, including ARTs, PI planning, cross-ART dependencies, PI objectives, and delivery metrics.
5. What governance model have you implemented for integrated tool chains, including ownership, workflows, taxonomy, access control, audit compliance, release controls, and data quality?
6. Describe a dashboard or KPI framework you created for delivery velocity, backlog health, test coverage, defect leakage, architecture insights, or operational visibility.
